waterproof

i ordered some waterproof gear from the internet for my study abroad and some of it came today.
SO EXCITED.
less than 6 weeks :)

a day in the life.

awkward:

• actually spending time getting ready this morning, only to get to class looking like a drowned cat. with frozen hair. i should have just turned back and put on a jacket with a hood. or grabbed an umbrella. or i could have skipped out on walking under that tree and bumping my head on the branch and getting water dumped all over me.
• frozen rain=shuffling/skating/slipping up hill to campus. hello unintentional ice rink of death.
• skipping the gym this morning in favor of extra sleep and feeling super bloated and tubby for the rest of the day.
• the fact that i didn't check the mirror before i left this morning. turns out that getting dressed in the dark isn't the greatest idea...
• the almost fight that went down in my english novel class today.
• getting checked out by a freshman boy that walked by me when i was at work. (would that be awesome? i can't decide. it was pretty awkward...although my coworker found it funny...)

awesome:

• actually understanding things in my french review today. quelle chance!! (hehe)
• fabulous chicken salad sandwich for lunch.
• pandora win. work today was great because i had hilary duff and journey and cascada singing about everytime we touch, and anyway i want it, and this is what dreams are made of.
• actually only falling down once. i'm quite proud of myself.
• talking to a friend i hadn't seen in awhile in said french review.
• my cousin dyed my hair again and it's absolutely perfect. i love everything about it. love love love love love!!

is it bad that sometimes i just hate hate HATE reading classics?
because i do.
but then on the other hand, i am an english major and i should just jump for joy at the thought of reading 80 pages in Joseph Andrews before class tomorrow.
trust me, i'm not. the book is ridiculous and i'd much rather be watching community. thank you very much.

a thanksgiving miracle.

hello. my name is jane and i'd like to state that i am seriously burnt out.
why you say? because of a lovely thing named COLLEGE.
granted, yes. i love it. with all of my being. i have a good life. i love my major. i have good roommates and friends. honestly.
but class is killing me. i am so tired. next week, before thanksgiving break, some brilliant (not) person decided to make tuesday friday instruction. WHY. i don't even know. i was dreading it. i have a class monday wednesday friday at 9 am that i hate with a fiery burning passion in my bosom. i was sure that he wouldn't cancel class that tuesday. and i was sitting in class wishing i could die.
but he cancelled class.
it's a thanksgiving miracle, charlie brown.
hallelujah, praise the Lord.

I went to the zoo on my way home today to see the zoo's latest addition. This darling little creature doesn't have a name yet, but she is 11 days old and was put on display yesterday.

 She is tiny and wrinkly and perfect!

sometimes i take classes over spring and summer.
then one day i take finals and i am HOME FREE.

well, at least for two and a half weeks until fall semester starts.

Dear World:

Things that are NOT okay with me:
-spiders. especially when there is no one around to kill them. and they are the size of a loaf of bread.
-ridiculous busy work assignments.
-research papers that don't involve writing papers...what is this?
-crop tees. i think they are weird. don't ask me why. maybe because they look terrible on me.
-sketchy videos shown in class.

Things that ARE okay with me:
-men like neal caffrey. for some reason art thieves are extremely attractive to me. maybe because they love art as much as i do. except i wouldn't go so far as to steal some...
-skinny jeans. a win everytime.
-fresh fruit.
-little sisters that paint your fingernails for you. so so cute.
-a 4 year old little boy chasing a 17 year old girl with a sock monkey while the girl screams. funniest thing i've seen all day.

Feeling a bit patriotic...

Need I say more?
These people blow my mind. They have so much spirit and so much talent and just blow it all out of the water.
I love Kerri Walsh Jennings and Misty May Treanor. Not only are they undefeated and stick together through everything, they are both married and make family a huge priority. Kerri brings her kids and husband with her every single time. Misty supports her husband in his football career and she is a great mom to her baby. Blows my mind.
It ALL blows my mind.
In short, I LOVE THE OLYMPICS.

Childhood Dreams.

You know. I have always wanted stop sign red hair. Based off this lady:

I may have been a little obsessed. I still am. Really truly. That hair is superb.
Anyways. Now that I am a big girl I have the opportunity to do an Ariel.
Red goes the hair.

This face is extremely awkward. Excuse it.

Yay for childhood dreams coming true. If only I can figure out a way to pause time, become a mermaid and ice skate, then my childhood will be complete.

Comfort Food

Call me crazy, but this is one of the things that brings me comfort in this world:
Bread and Milk.
First, make homemade bread and then cut it into slices, ripping it into a bowl.

Second, pour milk over the top as if it were cereal.

Third, sprinkle sugar on top.

Fourth, ENJOY :)
