“What is REAL?" asked the Velveteen Rabbit one day... "Does it mean having things that buzz inside you and a stick-out handle?"
"Real isn't how you are made," said the Skin Horse. "It's a thing that happens to you. When [someone] loves you for a long, long time, not just to play with, but REALLY loves you, then you become Real."
"Does it hurt?" asked the Rabbit.
"Sometimes," said the Skin Horse, for he was always truthful. "When you are Real you don't mind being hurt."
"Does it happen all at once, like being wound up," he asked, "or bit by bit?"
"It doesn't happen all at once," said the Skin Horse. "You become. It takes a long time. That's why it doesn't often happen to people who break easily, or have sharp edges, or who have to be carefully kept.
"Generally, by the time you are Real, most of your hair has been loved off, and your eyes drop out and you get loose in the joints and very shabby. But these things don't matter at all, because once you are Real you can't be ugly, except to people who don't understand... once you are Real you can't become unreal again. It lasts for always.”

Happy Birthday to the Brother
Happy Birthday to my brother Blake! I would very much like to wish him a happy birthday over the phone but some people (like him, my mom, and my dad) will not answer their phone. It's a little frustrating when it's a day as big as this!
When we were younger we would stay up all night the eve before the birthday playing games, watching a movie, and doing whatever we did as a sister and a brother. Then when the clock ticked to 12:00 on the day of June 13 or September 2 (depending on who's birthday it was), we would do a little celebration, then went to bed. We wanted to be the first person to wish the other a happy birthday.
Sadly this could not happen this year with college and different states. I was young when he entered my life so I really don't know life without him. Happy Birthday Blake (hopefully we can talk soon)!

True Story
This is how I feel every time I walk into a library.
Good thing I love this song. And the library.
Read on, my friends.

Big Smile?
This probably isn't something I like to admit. Actually, no probably about it. Who likes to tell people that they have a fake tooth on a retainer in their mouth as we are speaking? Not me. How embarrassing. I feel like a girl (woman? lady? who cares.) of my age should not have to wear orthodontic equipment in their mouth. Especially when they haven't had braces for quite a few years now.
Anyway. As I was eating my blueberry mini wheats this morning, the tooth on my retainer BROKE OFF. So I had two choices as I headed out for the day: not wear a retainer and look like a hillbilly, or wear the other retainer I have that has a wire in front and look like a fourteen year old freak again. Neither is preferable.
I decided on being fourteen again.
Bright Side:

Bright Side:
- At least I can get it fixed tomorrow (as today is a holiday. Happy Memorial Day.)
- At least I live in a time where I can have straight teeth.
- At least I live in a time where I just got out of a surgery that will give me a permanent fake tooth in August once the post they put in my bone heals.

Great Importance
Once upon a time, I finally decided to put music on my ipod. As I sorted through my itunes library, I made a rather grand discovery.150 fun songs for kids; featuring thrilling hits such as: hot cross buns, London bridges falling down, Three little kittens, there's a hole in my bucket, Alice the camel, and more!
Am I in my twenties?
yes.
Have I been listening to it all day?
yes.
Is there anything wrong with that?
I plead the fifth.
this is important, mostly because its the most exciting thing that's happened to me today, and I am blogging about it thus making me a productive member of society.
